Matthew was in a fatal car accident on the 27th May 2007 in Halifax.
He was a soldier in the Duke of Wellingtons regiment and wore his uniform with pride.
He was so gentle and caring and was known for his cheeky smile.
Matthew had a great love of animals and for this he was nicknamed by his army friends as Dr Dolittle.
His other great love was Huddersfield Town FC. He used to say "it's football or nothing"
He will be missed terribly but,will always be the centre of the thoughts of everyone who loved him so very much.
Feel no guilt in laughter, he knows how much you care
Feel no sorrow in a smile that heβs not here to share
You cannot grieve forever, he would not want you to
Heβd hope that you can carry on, the way you always do
So talk about the good times and the ways you showed you cared
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.

hi my lovely boy, i miss you so so much , ithink about you from the moment i wake till the moment i sleep, life goes on but my heart aches so much , i think it will burst out of my chest. people think i am ok , i laugh , i go to work, i go out for meals, i go on holiday, i do everything that normal people do but i do it with such a heavy heart, i will never have true happiness again that was taken from me the day you left,i remember the night before it happened me and dad were so happy we were sat in a lovely restaraunt looking over a lovely bay in greece and life was so good, then one phone call changed all that our happy life ended and this one started.we do our best and i think we do better than some but we miss you darling , we ache for you and we will not be happy till we see your lovely cheeky happy face, keep smiling sweetheart, your heartbroken mum xxxx
